Due to computer problems, I don’t have a regular article ready this week. My desktop machine is in the shop for a new hard-drive installed. In the meantime, I resurrected a Microsoft Surface machine to get some work done.
It’s not been used since the summer, so it took several hours to get it updated to the point where it is safely functional. Fortunately, the hard-drive on my desktop machine was still under warranty, so it won’t be too costly to get fixed. The “old” drive lasted less than a year, which is the quickest I’ve ever had one die on me (see Technical Difficulties, published March 27 of last year).
I do have a few articles in development, which you should see in coming weeks:
- A report on a dinner we recently had at The Prime Street Grille in La Plata, Charles County
- An overview of the economic benefits enjoyed by Southern Maryland via the development of the new wineries, distilleries, and breweries
- A review of the book Maryland wine: a full-bodied history by Regina Mc Carthy of The Vineyards at Dodon.
There plenty of other ideas and events for future pieces. Stay tuned! ♦
