They will sell you an oyster float and baby oysters to put into the water on your property. Or, if you don’t have your own spot to place the oysters, you can have them place them for you. As of November 2016, their price is $250 (plus $15 for taxes, etc.) for a float and 600 baby (larvae or spat) oysters. The oysters will take about a year to mature and you can expect to lose about 25% of them. If you’re a Maryland resident, you can get a tax credit for such a purchase.
